Turbine Generator Hydrogen Purity
Problem
Hydrogen in air is a potentially explosive mixture. Monitoring hydrogen purity prevents the danger of an explosion due to air leaks.
During routine purging of hydrogen-cooled turbine generators, monitoring of hydrogen in CO2, or CO2 in air, prevents premature entry into the generator.
Measurement
Hydrogen purity - 80 to 100% H2 in air
Hydrogen in CO2 - 0 to 100% H2 in CO2
CO2 in air - 0 to 100% CO2 in air
