VB-1 FAQ

What flow controller is used in the product? What are its wetted parts?

What is the particulate size for the filter in the unit?

At what flow rate does the flow switch trigger?

What are the voltage input and output thresholds for the digital inputs and outputs of the VB product line?

The VB-1 uses inch tubing. Is there an alternative for (mm) tubing?

Can I get more information on the flow controller used within the VB-1?

What flow switch is used in the product?

What are the wetted materials in the Chem Tec flow switch?

What is the hysteresis in the flow switch?

The VB-1 has two types of flow meters. What are their Teledyne part numbers, the manufacturers' part numbers, and the wetted materials in each?

Regarding the valves in the VB-1, what is the maximum inlet pressure? What are the wetted materials?

What is the TAI part number and the manufacturer and their part number of the valve used in the VB series?

What is the TAI part number for the solenoid valve with the connector on it?

We wish to power up the analyzers to prove out the Profibus communications between the valve boxes and our DCS (assigning addresses, etc) in the next few days. Without reading the specifics of all the operating manuals, can you tell me if there are any issues with providing power to them to perform this check. We will not have any gases available at this point in time.

Also is there anything we should know in advance regarding assigning the specific addresses to the valve boxes?

What is the maximum Profibus cable length between the VB-1 and my system?

Also is there anything we should know in advance regarding assigning the specific addresses to the valve boxes?

A: You can power up the valve boxes without gas being applied. You may get a warning or two, such as flow fault because of this, but the valve box keeps running.

As to Profibus addresses, just make sure to start with 2 as address 1 is reserved for the master, and do not repeat the address number.
