We may need to simulate the PCB without removing the fuel cell in the cell holder (cell simulator). Is the thermister value at the cell holder 16Kohm @ 25°C?

We tried to power on and heard a "click" sound around on the power supply board (around the relay). But it failed to power on and did not show any information on the display at all. We think that the power supply might be a problem. Can you advise how to solve this issue?

We have a need to measure 0-5% O2 in the regen gas from a chiller, this is saturated with water vapor. It is possible that water may condense out of the sample gas when it comes into the analyzer room. We can design to remove liquid water but I wanted to confirm that the fuel cell would not be damaged if condensation in the cell were to occur? Such an application should be avoided with paramagnetic or zirconia but I think that the fuel cell may be OK. Can you comment?

On the 3000TAEU, what happens to the output current across when the power is switched off? Does it drop to 0mA or 4mA (since it is a powered loop)?

How many decimal places of resolution can the alarm values contain?

How do I adjust the 4-20mA analog output on a 3000TA with the special output adjustment feature?

How do you reset the password if it has been forgotten or misplaced?

Q: ​Are the three user ranges on these models preselected before purchase or adjustable after purchase? 

A: The three user ranges are selectable in the field and you can select ranges by pushing the membrane switches on the keypad.​

Q: ​What are the minimum and maximum concentrations measurable with each model? 

A: With the Model 3000TA, the minimum range can be 10 ppm and the max 1%. With the 3000PA, you can go from 1% to 100%. Again, these are the ranges. Typically the lower detecting limit is 1% of the range. ​

Q: ​What is the expected cell life and does this deteriorate faster with increasing oxygen concentration? 

A:  The normal life of a sensor is about 6-8 months depending on O2 levels, temperature of gas, and the amount of water vapor in the stream. Normally trace O2 sensors would have a little longer life than percent O2 sensors. ​

Q: ​Are spare cells for these in stock and what is the cost? 

A: The sensors are always in stock and can be shipped the same day by courier. Contact Teledyne for the most recent price quote.

If you have CO2 in the stream, please advise us as you need a different sensor for such an application. ​

Q: ​Are these instruments effected by power outages? 

A: The instruments will not be effected by power outage. However, continue to flow gas through the units as to not saturate the sensors with O2. ​

A: The 4-20ma modules are supplied on of two ways: 

 

as a component from Analog Device, Part Number 1b-22 AN

(device with the white label) or



as a separate circuit board mounted on the top.

Q: ​Do you have a replacement part number for the key pad with the buttons mounted on the board?

A: There are the two options for replacement of bad keypad. 

1) For just the keypad replacement, order P/N D76672A (membrane keypad), and 3000TA label p/n B76673A. 

2) The complete door assembly (including display board) for a model 3000TAEU is p/n C66285A. ​

A:  Yes it is.

A: Check the fuse condition. If the fuse is healthy then check the DC voltages on the Rear Panel BD. Refer to this document for instructions on how to test DC voltages:

A: Generically it will not damage the cell permanently. Once the water is dried out the cell works fine.​

A: The 4-20 output will drop to 4ma when the stand by switch in front is pressed. 

It will drop to zero only if the ac is removed. 

They can use the system alarm relay if need an alarm when the system goes into bypass. ​

Q: ​How many decimal places of resolution can the alarm values contain?

A: The 3000T alarm value can only be an integer (e.g. 1 ppm, 2 ppm, 3 ppm .... 99,999 ppm)
The 3000P alarm value contains two decimal places (e.g. 0.00%, 0.01%, 0.02% .... 99.99%, 100.0%)​

Q: ​How do I adjust the 4-20mA analog output on a 3000TA with the special output adjustment feature? 

​A: The procedure is as follows:

  • Press the System button to bring up the System menu.

  • Select the MORE function and press the Enter key to go to the second set of the System menu.

Show_Negative= NO

  • Select the 'Dac-Cal' function and press Enter. The first screen will appear for the first calibration, to adjust the 4 mADC output

Zero 4 to 20 ma out
< ENT > to OK: 0

  • Connect a DVM configured as an ammeter across the the percent of range 4-20 madc output. Adjust the value on the second line using the Up/Down keys, till DVM reads 4.00 madc (the range of adjustment on the second line is ± 200 which corresponds to approx. ± 1.6 mADC change in the output).

  • Press the Enter key to calibrate the 20 mADC output

Cal 4 to 20 ma out
< ENT > to OK: 0

  • Again use the Up/Down keys to adjust the DVM till it reads 20.0 mADC. The range of the number on the second line is ± 200 as well.

  • Press Enter to return to the System menu​

Q: ​How do you reset the password if it has been forgotten or misplaced?

A: Resetting the password will require a "cold start", which takes the analyzer back to its factory defaults. Cold start procedure can be found here. ​
